The History of O’Gradyfest

It all started with 3 frat boys at the Summerglen Country Club in October of 2004. Casey, Spencer, and Brammer were living together in an off campus house. Casey was about to turn 21 and they decided that they needed a celebration for this event. While they were experienced in throwing parties, they wanted this one to top all the others. After many beers and lots of internet research, they determined that the best way to celebrate was to have pork and drinks with lots of friends. They decided that roasting a whole hog was the only real option for this party.

A party of this magnitude needed a name and O’Gradyfest was finally settled on as a proper name for the party.

To step the game up even further a shirt was designed that would represent what the party was all about. A slogan was placed on the back of the shirt and “Fancy Shirts for Fancy People” was born.

When the day of the party came, they built a concrete block pit, roasted a whole hog, and had a weekend long party. The party was such a success they decided that it needed to be an annual event. With the exception of the year after they graduated from college, O’Gradyfest has occurred every October since 2004.

AND THAT IS HOW O’GRADYFEST WAS BORN!!!
